Inspiration

It is true to say that I have been in a rut writing-wise recently.  Lots of ideas floating around but no drive or confidence to get them down on paper.  These writing lulls can be a bit scary really because it feels like I’m at the bottom of a huge mountain without the equipment or know-how to begin the climb.  And at times like these that you need a bit of inspiration to get you through.

The other day I came across this quote by MAYA ANGELOU which was a big help:

“The idea is to write it so that people hear it and it slides through the brain and goes straight to the heart.”

To those of you are on a writing roll – enjoy the ride!

And for those of you stuck in a rut, I say, for what it’s worth – try not to panic and make way for inspiration to find you.

🙂

  1. That’s great and all but I really wonder as to the amount of people who hear it, but can’t stop it from sliding through the brain and straight out the other ear.

  2. Ha! Yes but is that the fault of the reader…or the writer? 😉
